Lead Reduction / Removal

We stock specialist cartridges targeting lead reduction. These filters also carry all the advantages of standard activated carbon filters i.e. chlorine, chlorination byproducts, natural organic matter and petrochemicals etc.

Please note, these filters have a 0.5μm nominal rating so a 5μm pre-filter is recommended to ensure a long lifetime of the cartridge.

These filters are typically found in applications where there is old lead piping in soft water areas or from borehole feeds with high levels of lead in the water.

If you have an under sink filter already, typically a 3 stage unit you can simply buy our cartridge and install as the 3rd stage. If you need a complete system please let us know and we can show you the options.

Cryptosporidium Removal

The parasite Cryptosporidium (Crypto) is still a concern in certain water supplies in Ireland, if this affects you we are here to help with proven certified solutions to ensure safe drinking water.

Cryptosporidium is a microscopic parasite that exists in the form of oocysts, which are protected by a robust outer shell. The resilience of the oocysts enables Crypto to withstand chlorine-based disinfection methods used in Ireland, rendering it difficult to eliminate through conventional water processes.

When ingested, Crypto oocysts can cause a gastrointestinal illness known as Cryptosporidiosis. Affecting the intestines of both humans and mammals, symptoms typically include stomach cramps, diarrhoea, nausea, dehydration and headaches. Most at risk of infection are young children, the elderly and those with low immune systems however most people who have healthy immune systems will recover without treatment.

There are many products on the market such as our own Reverse Osmosis product range that would likely deal with Cryptosporidium but unfortunately have not gone under the required certification to prove effectiveness, this is why we only recommend certified solutions for Cryptosporidium removal. Many suppliers do not understand the certification standards and so list products simply with NSF/ANSI Standard 53 or 58 as being suitable for cyst removal but this is not correct, there should also be a statement the end, for example, 'NSF/ANSI Standard 58 for cyst removal' . We would recommend you view the certification before purchasing. This is important to keep in mind when selecting a solution for your home.

Certified Removal Solutions

Filtration is an extremely effective method for preventing the transmission of Crypto and ensuring the safety of drinking water. Our filter cartridges have been independently tested to NSF 53-2011 standards with a removal rate of >99.99996% when tested with 3μm micro-spheres.

Cartridges are manufactured in a clean room environment, lot coded for material traceability and a Quality Assurance Certificate is supplied with every cartridge. Each cartridge is vacuum sealed and then enclosed in a durable outer plastic layer for further protection.

If you have an under sink filter already, typically a 3 stage unit you can simply buy our cartridge and install as the 3rd stage. If you need a complete system please let us know and we can show you the options.

Chlorine Removal

We stock cartridges specifically formulated for effective chlorine and chloramine control. Having been manufactured within a five-stage process, these ultra porous catalytic activated carbon cartridges offers up to 10 times the chlorine / chloramine capacity of a typical carbon cartridge. Essential for use in public water supplies where chlorine or chloramine has been added as the disinfecting agent of choice. Also suitable for Renal dialysis & aquatics systems where strict chlorine and chloramine control is required.

Treatment capacity: Chlorine Reduction @ 2mg/l: 190,000 litres* or Chlorine Reduction @ 0.2mg/l: 1.6 Million litres**

In Ireland the average household uses 125,000 litres of water per year and as a general estimate from available Irish Water data the Chlorine concentrations would be under 1mg/l , from this a single cartridge would comfortably last 1 year.

*Chlorine capacity using 2mg/l free available chlorine at 0.5mg/l breakthrough.
**Chlorine capacity using 0.2mg/l free available chlorine at 0.05mg/l breakthrough.

Please note, these filters have a 1μm nominal rating so a 5μm pre-filter is recommended to ensure a long lifetime of the cartridge.

Larger sizes are available if required, e.g. BB10 & BB20 sizes.

If you have an under sink filter already, typically a 3 stage unit you can simply buy our cartridge and install as the 3rd stage. If you need a complete system please let us know and we can show you the options.

THM (trihalomethanes) Removal

We are here to deal with your Trihalomethanes (THMs) issues. THMs are the new buzz word on the block and are chemicals which may be found in water treated with chlorine. The concentration of THMs in drinking water varies according to the level of organic material in the water, the amount of chlorine required to treat the water, and the temperature of the water that is being treated. Some water supplies in Ireland have reported levels of THMs which are higher than the recommended levels.

There are a number of ways to remove THMs from your water with the most practical being Activated Carbon filtration and/or Reverse Osmisis (RO) filtration.

Larger sizes are available if required, e.g. BB10 & BB20 sizes.

If you have an under sink filter already, typically a 3 stage unit you can simply buy our cartridge and install as the 3rd stage. If you need a complete system we reccomend reverse osmosis, please let us know and we can show you the options.

PFAS Removal

PFAS (Per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances), also known as the Forever Chemicals.

Launching May 2024.

Oil Removal

With increasing regulations on run-off water treatment we stock cartridges specifically formulated for the polishing of hydrocarbons, the cartridge is capable of absorbing up to three times its own weight before changeout is required. Designed to remove up to 99% of dispersed hydrocarbons, it is suited to applications where the inlet contamination is below 500mg/l, such as surface run off water, CNC machine coolant and bilge separators etc.

It achieves best results as a polishing phase after primary oil removal technologies or in a double-pass system and is effective at removing a range of contaminants, including mineral oils and BTEX hydrocarbons.

If you need a complete system please let us know and we can show you the options.

Manganese Removal

Please contact us directly to discuss. You will need to let us know how many water users in the household along with a water test report showing the composition of your water.

Heavy Metal Removal

Please contact us directly to discuss. You will need to let us know how many water users in the household along with a water test report showing the composition of your water.

pH Adjustment

Please contact us directly to discuss. You will need to let us know how many water users in the household along with the current pH reading of your water. A full water test report showing the composition of your water would be ideal but not totally necessary.
