How often should I change the filter?
The lifetime of a fridge ice and water dispenser can vary depending on factors such as the frequency of use, the size of the ice maker and the amount of water dispensed for drinking. Of course the quality of the water supply also has a significant impact due to how 'hard' the filter has to work. With these points in mind and with current general estimates that annual usage would be approximatly 5,000 litres it would be sufficient to change the filter once per year. You can of course change more regularly if your desire. 
 
This is a coconut carbon filter which improves odor and taste of water and removes high levels of chemicals including Chlorine, Organic Compounds and Pesticides from the water.
